WHAT TO EXPECT

Join Macau Explorer’s Pilgrimage Tour and take a trip through time, as you discover the religious history of the former Portuguese colony. As a city on the contemporary edge of commerce and culture, Macau’s past glories are steeped in the grace of God, its rich spiritual history showcased at its many preserved sacred sites.

Led by cultural experts and Catholic preachers, and passing through churches, cathedrals, ruins and museums, this exclusive seven-hour tour weaves through the city’s spiritual past as it explores the ancient belief systems that established the colony.

Beginning at the Ruins of St. Paul’s, we follow in the footsteps of Macau’s first missionaries as they spread the word of God and established Asia’s first western college. We’re then led by a clergy member through an exclusive look inside St. Joseph’s seminary*, investigating its many religious artefacts and archives. After that, we explore the Baroque architectural beauty of Macau’s most stunning church, Sao Dominic, before finishing up on Old Coloane Village’s cobblestone streets, enjoying traditional Portuguese egg tarts against the backdrop of shoreline sunset views.

*Subject to final decision of the seminary
